NOTICE ABOUT CANCELLATION POLICY DURING COVID-19
In order to protect the survival of our small family business and the travel industry as whole, strongly affected by this situation, as of the night of March 17th 2020, the Italian government has granted all tour operators, travel agencies, museums, transportation vectors and hotels to proceed with credit vouchers, with expiration on the 31st of December 2020 of the same amount of original reservations instead of refunds, which could suddenly lead to a default of the entire Italian tourism industry. Please read pag. 48, article 88 of the Gazzetta Ufficiale of the 17th of March https://www.gazzettaufficiale.it/eli/id/2020/03/17/20G00034/sg.

This exceptional situation, the strict procedures put in place, and the extraordinary measures wanted by our government are now legally giving us a chance to prioritize survival, the jobs of our employees, tour guides and suppliers.

This means that the previous Cancellation Policy (https://www.livitaly.com/cancellation-policy/), which you agreed upon when booking, as of March 17th can, formally and legally be changed by our governmental measures.

While Kristin and I have been trying to continue to process refunds after this law, we started finding ourselves in the middle of a contingency. Our suppliers (from ticket venues to museums and archeological sites, all the way through to car services, train companies and moer) started applying the above stated law, and we rapidly found ourselves receiving travel credit for an undetermined client but having to refund our client’s requests. In a matter of days, this would have sent us bankrupt and destroyed LivTours completely.

Of course, we understand the frustration that this may cause, and can also relate to the financial impact this may be having on you, and, while we are confident you understand and support us, we want to make the best out of this situation and offer you, in our opinion, the best outcome and advantages we are able to:

  • We will eliminate the expiration date set by the government and make your voucher/travel credit open-dated and available for infinity
  • With that credit you can have access to the same tour (even if prices may increase in years to come) or similar tours of same retail value anywhere in Europe (we offer tours all over Italy, Barcelona, Paris, London and more)
  • You can give the travel credit to family, friends, or whomever you think will be using it before you. This means the name can easily be changed at your convenience.
  • You can modify and amend your desired travel date whenever and however you wish, for as many times as you wish.

A few questions you may be asking yourself:

How will this work?
When you are ready to officially cancel your current reservation, we will amend your booking for a “fake” date to next year same time. This is purely done to move you from this year’s events and not confuse our guides, ticketing and suppliers. You will then have plenty of time to reschedule, change, or gift your tour for as long as you wish.

What if LivTours goes bankrupt?
No, after careful consideration and analysis, we agree with the government’s measures. If everyone in the industry is doing it, then we should too. It allows us to hibernate our business for as long as we need until we start getting signals that the globe is healthier and people start traveling again. Because we will! At that point we will have saved your funds, saved our employees, and will be ready to serve you at your earliest convenience.

PLEASE NOTE: This cancellation policy has been updated as of February 17, 2020 and is applicable to bookings made on or after February 17, 2020. All bookings prior to this date are subject to terms in cancellation policy at the time of booking, which before February 17, 2020 stated that all cancellations must be made: 7 days prior for private tours/experiences, 72 hours prior for small group tours/experience and 72 hours prior for transfers. The updated cancellation policy is not retroactive.

FREE CANCELLATION POLICY!

Alltours and experiences booked on www.livspain.com can be cancelled, free of charge, however please carefully read LivSpain’s conditions regarding time frame for cancellations or changes and possible fees associated to such cancellations or changes in order to get a full refund. This cancellation policy applies to all tours, experiences and transfers booked on www.livspain.com.
LivSpain Tours must be advised of cancellations in written (booking@livtours.com) or by phone directly to our Emergency line (+39) 335 156 9642 

In order to continue to maintain our exclusive small group tour size of max 6 participants, continue to hire top-rated guides and guarantee departure of all our experiences, cancellations and amendments are subject to cancellation fees that may vary depending on the tour or experience booked and are at the discretion of LivSpain Tours. The fee is not refundable unless the booking is cancelled due to a fault on LivSpain Tours part, in which case there will be an assessment done on a case by case basis with regards to any change of our refund policy.
SMALL GROUP TOURS & EXPERIENCES
– Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the scheduled starting time: Full refund (please see below for any ticket fees on particular tours).
– Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled starting time: No refund
– Under no circumstance, LivSpain Tours will refund for a late arrival due to flight delays/cancellation, train delays/cancellation, or traffic jam and public transportation strikes.
PRIVATE TOURS & EXPERIENCES
– Cancellations made more than 72 hours before the scheduled starting time: Full refund (please see below for any ticket fees on particular tours).
– Cancellation made less than 72 hours before the scheduled starting time: No refund.
– Under no circumstance, LivSpain Tours will refund for a late arrival due to flight delays/cancellation, train delays/cancellation, or traffic jam and public transportation strikes.
NON-REFUNDABLE TICKET FEES
The following tours have a mandatory fee which is equal to the non-refundable ticket price regardless of when you cancel your booking. Upon reception of your booking, LivSpain Tours immediately purchases tickets to museums and sites in order to ensure your entrance. Ticket purchase is non-refundable on all tours.
TRANSFERS
– Transfer cancellations made up to 72 hours before scheduled pickup time: Full refund (except the cancellation fee).
– Transfer cancellations made less than 72 hours before scheduled pickup time: No refund
– Under no circumstance, LivSpain Tours will refund for a late arrival due to flight delays/cancellation, train delays/cancellation, or traffic jam and public transportation strikes.
AMENDMENTS
Amendments depend on availability and may be subject to a fee when tickets have already been purchased and are not refundable. Please send us an email to booking@livtours.com if you wish to reschedule a tour.
SAVE MONEY AND CHOOSE OUR NON-REFUNDABLE POLICY!
Clients can opt for a non-refundable policy in order to get a discounted rate of each tour/experience/transfer they are purchasing. Services purchased with a non-refundable policy, cannot be cancelled or amended under any circumstance. Requests of cancellations or amendments will result in a loss of the entirety of the funds utilized for that tour/experience/transfer.
NO-SHOW & LATE ARRIVALS
Clients who are not at the designated meeting point or pickup point at the agreed upon time are considered No-Shows. All No-Shows will be considered late-cancellations and therefore not refundable. It is the client’s responsibility to alert LivSpain Tours on the dedicated Emergency Line (+39) 335 156 9642 in the event of late arrival. We suggest to always bring the phone you provide in the “Phone while traveling” section at checkout, have it fully charged and functioning.

GENERAL NOTIONS

WEATHER
Tours and Experiences will always run with all weather conditions. Minor variations of the itinerary may occur to accommodate safety and security of our clients. This will not entitle the customer to any sort of refund.
CLOSURE OR STRIKES
In the event of an unexpected closure of a site or attraction your guide will promptly provide an alternative itinerary. This will not entitle the customer to any sort of refund.
CANCELLATION POLICY CHANGES
The terms of this cancellation policy may change at the LivSpain Tour’s discretion. In the event of such changes, the new policy will apply for all tours booked after the date and time of the policy change.
